Me made made May is in full effect and it has been an absolute blast so far!
I am so happy to have been able to wear quite a few me made garments.
I was selected by two companies to test patterns and it was an amazing experience!
This is the Melbourne blouse from New Horizons Designs. It flows so nicely and is very flattering. I really enjoyed making this top. I have a dress cut out and will be sewing that up really soon. I recommend a fabric that has an excellent drape. If you live in a warmer climate a Rayon Spandex will be perfect and keep you cool. If you live in a climate that is a bit cooler a double brushed poly or even a Jersey knit would work wonderfully.
I tried a new to me technique where I gathered the skirt portion with elastic thread and that was an absolute dream.
The Melbourne features a curved bust line with a gathered waist that flows away from the hips. Also features options like sleeveless, short sleeves, elbow length sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves, shirt length, tunic length, knee length dress and maxi length! Comes in sizes xx-small - 30. And girls sizes 12-18m - 16y.
The pattern is on sale until May 24, 2019 and you can find it Here. Let me know if you try it and please feel free to email me if you have any questions.
The next company that I had the privilege to pattern test for is Mamma Can Do It. This is the Priscilla top. It is a handkerchief style blouse that is just dreamy. Just like the Melbourne it is really quick to sew up and will be an absolute staple in my wardrobe. I love that the instructions are written so well and pictures guide you through the whole process to ensure you will be a complete success! You can find the pattern Here. I would love to see what you end up making! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
